I really tried to like this book. It was ruined by three major flaws. First, I really did not like the two main characters. The lesser, supporting character became so irritating and foolish I would have opened a car door and shoved her out at 65 MPH. The main character is a serial victim, not of one bad marriage but of two. At the end of the book, two more "friends' suddenly appear to flesh out some sort of solution to the plot. They added nothing but confusion. The second major flaw was some pretty bad proof-reading. I stopped counting the number of time the word "passed' was substituted for "past." Big difference in words, for sure. There were also words that had letters just missing. Odd. The third major flaw was the way the story continued to jump time and space. Yes, the author put the date in the chapter heading, but without any idea of what she was referencing or why, those heading became meaningless. I read this in almost one sitting, and I could not follow it, so I cannot imagine someone who is reading over several days being able to follow along. The ending was also a major disappointment. We don't see the husband get his just desserts, we only find out through some plot tricks that the main character is in some kind of metal facility. It left a sour feeling in my mouth. I really cannot recommend this to anyone who might have to pay for it. I got it the day it was free so at least I am not out the money.Product details

Beth DiarySuch an Ordinary Day Suspense / Fiction edition by Patricia Toth Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Such an Ordinary Day, by Patricia Toth, kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. There wasn't a dull moment as I followed along with Beth on her cross-country journey and read her life story as it unfolded. Although there were some dark moments in the life of Beth, it just added to the dimensions of this character and made me want to keep cheering for her throughout the book. Kudos to Toth, and I look forward to more books by this author!
